Home Remedies for High Indigestion

There are numerous simple recipes illustrated in Ayurveda to correct many disorders. Here are few gruel recipes which are strongly recommended in digestive disorders. These are simple and effective remedies which can be prepared easily at home to correct the digestive disorder and also to replenish the lost nutrients.

Common home remedies for indigestion are peppermint and ginger. These are also popular in treating other digestion problems. Apple and tea are also used, as are Epsom salts. Another effective way to relieve indigestion is drinking the juice of a raw potato or an egg white. Cloves are also considered treatment for indigestion. Other herbs that help relieve the discomfort that comes with indigestion are meadowsweet and lavender. In traditional medicine, the use of feverfew, fennel and dill as cures for indigestion is common, as well as thyme and speedwell.

A three-fold process of digestion, absorption and assimilation accomplishes incorporation of food in human body. Digestion begins the moment food enters the mouth. It mixes with the saliva and is made more permeable for the gastric juice, which exudes from the openings of the tiny glands of the stomach.

Secondly, eating a whole banana daily is highly recommended. Bananas are nature's own antacids that prevent indigestion and heartburn. However, for fast relief eating papaya or pineapple with the juice is good. This works by reducing the stomach acids without the use of medicinal chemicals and
mountainous cost. Some people claim that even a teaspoon of mustard works.

If the process of digestion is compared to that of cooking rice, the stomach,like the vessel., receives food. Vata provides the necessary conditions like the air blower, Pitta acts like the stove, providing optimum working conditions while Kapha provides the moisture needed much like the water in the vessel. When all these factors are normal andwell balanced, an optimum condition is created to digest the food completely.

Orange is effective Home Remedy for Indigestion as it gives relax to the digestive organs and supplies nutrition.

Ground cardamom seed mixed with ginger, cloves and coriander is an effective Home Remedy for indigestion.

A teaspoon of seeds of ajwain with a little rock salt is a superior remedy for indigestion.

Chamomile is a stomach dressing. Chamomile is antiseptic and has a calming effect. Make yourself an infusion from 3 dry flowers and a 200g mug of hot water. Leave it for 15-20 minutes, covered, and then filter it. Drink 2-3 mugs a day.

Lemon juice kills nausea. Lemonade is good the summer and the winter too. After the Christmas meal, if you have nausea from eating too much, squeeze a lemon in a glass and drink it all in one move. Add a teaspoon of honey and you are safe from indigestion.

If you go to bed late or take your major meals quite late, you can have acid indigestion. So, always follow a proper diet roster. It is always advisable to have homemade meals. If you cannot make the time, then opt for a hygienic locale. Moreover, have the meals at the fixed times. Go for a nutritious breakfast. Then you can skip the lunch. Have lunch before noon and supper latest by nine. Avoid fast food as much as possible.
